Grateful for baby brothers

Hubs is away at the moment, and as I blogged about hereΒ this means that not only am I solo parenting but I also need to attempt to walk the dog on my own with L (age 6) and C (age 6 months). The solo parenting I don’t have a problem with, but trying to walk the dog with the kids is always a challenge.

So I was delighted yesterday evening when my baby brother came by on his way home from work (he lives a 10 minute walk away and we’re on his walk home from the tube station), and sat with the girls while I walked the dog. His payment? A beer or two.

It’s amazing that he does it as he never wants to have kids as he’s not a big fan….I think he makes an exception for his fab nieces though πŸ˜‰

  2. Sounds like a good deal to me! I’d get more beer in if I were you it looks like you might need it while your husbands away πŸ˜‰

Unfortunately it only worked once – for some reason he was not so keen the next morning!

Love when my little brother stops by, though he usually just eats all the available food and makes my son hyper right before bedtime πŸ™‚

    • Franglaise Mummy says:

That sounds very familiar, although mine tends to be drinks all the beer rather than eats all the food!

  4. He looks quite happy with his side of the bargain! x

    • Franglaise Mummy says:

I didn’t hear any complaints, just a shame I couldn’t tempt him back for the morning walk the next day!

Ah yes, have had that challenge, an all terrain buggy and strong arms are the only option here.

    • Franglaise Mummy says:

It does make for fun! I’ve tried two different approaches – baby in the carrier and 6yo by my side whilst I hold the lead, or baby in the pushchair being pushed by 6yo while I hold the lead. Neither is great and the latter is a no-go if it’s been raining.

What a kind (and handsome) brother who deserves that beer. I adore my little bro x

    • Franglaise Mummy says:

Gotta love the baby brothers πŸ™‚ I’ll tell him the handsome bit, he’ll like that! x
