It’s all in the bra

Following on from the massive response that I got to my recent blog post about wearing a decent bra, 25 lucky women joined me last Friday evening for some fizz, macarons and lingerie discovery at Chantelle’s HQ just off Oxford Street.

Fizz, macarons and Chantelle lingerie = the perfect soirée!

A whopping 80% of the women at our Chantelle event were wearing the wrong size bra, which is not all that surprising seeing as that is the national average.

During the evening Sandra from Chantelle gave us a presentation to explain common mistakes that women make when buying bras, as well as advising us on how to spot an ill-fitting bra and how we can improve the chest we’ve got.

There was a real mix of ages, lifestyles, nationalities, backgrounds and bust sizes, but these women all had one thing in common: they wanted to learn more about how wearing the right bra could make a difference to them and their breasts. Judging by the smiles on their faces, the orders being placed and the feedback given to me they got what they were coming for…

The attendees were all captivated by the Chantelle lingerie experts

“Great fitting underwear is a fundamental element in looking good and feeling confident. As so many labels vary in their sizing, it was wonderful to be properly fitted in a size and shape that really felt comfortable and such lovely quality, not to mention a fabulous colour range! Can’t wait until my three new purchases arrive.”

We all agreed that Chantelle lingerie brings out our femininity

“I love Chantelle; I have been wearing this brand over 10 years now. Beautiful design, delicate and more importantly truly comfortable.
I thought i knew my lingerie (this is probably my French side) until I saw the presentation by the Chantelle ladies, how informative it was. Great evening, meeting new people, understanding not only the brand but the lingerie industry and how important it is for us women to look after our bust.” Edith

A lesson to us all!

“I haven’t been fitted properly for a bra in several years and was quite shocked to discover I’m actually a cup size bigger! Sandra was brilliant in showing me styles that suited my bust and I was really impressed with how it transformed my shape instantly!” Ting

Some useful information about pregnancy, bras and breasts

“I knew my size had changed following pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it was a real shock to discover my new bra size, as well as a big relief! Getting advice and expertise from the lovely ladies at Chantelle, I can finally shop with confidence and stop guessing about size, shape etc.. Thank you! “ Eve

Why should you buy good quality bras l It's all in the bra l www.FranglaiseMummy.com l French and English parenting and lifestyle ramblings

We all agreed that the comfort of a good quality bra is incredible

“Personally, I was amazed, as I confess, I haven’t been measured since my youngest was a baby and I bought some new nursing bras. I hate wearing bras normally, as I find them uncomfortable, and also was scared to get measured. Surprisingly, I am the size I thought (hoped) and not increased, but them suggesting different shaped bras makes such a difference, and showing you how to fit and wear one properly is huge (pardon the pun!)” Karen

How many of you actually put your bra on properly?

The lovely Michelle from Bod for Tea kindly volunteered so we could all see how a bra should be put on!

An awful lot of you said you would like to organise or attend a similar event but elsewhere than London, if that is the case then please email Kerri from Chantelle at kashworth@chantelle.fr to find out more.

Michelle from Bod for Tea and I had so much fun at the Chantelle event 🙂

Finally, I did say that I believed in Chantelle’s bras so much that I was going to put a photo of me, in a Chantelle bra, on my blog, and I stand by my word but I’m just waiting to get a gorgeous new bra from them, so watch this space…

Disclosure: I genuinely believe in Chantelle’s products and so am keen to share my discovery with others, to remunerate me for my time Chantelle have gifted me some of their beautiful lingerie.

  1. Thank you again for hosting this fab event – even if I did end up wearing a bra in front of the whole room 😉 The lovely Sandra clocked my right bra size the moment I walked through the door – so impressed! I had no idea that so much work went into making a quality bra and thanks to Chantelle I now know the hints and tips to buying the perfect fitting bra. Can’t wait for my Chantelle pieces to arrive! It was utterly brilliant seeing you again too lovely x

I want to organise one!!! We must get on this!! Shall I email Kerri or shall you and I chat first. I’m just outside Peterborough so not sure but we have a John Lewis that might carry Chantelle. Also, there are quite a few Midlands bloggers and I have quite a few Mummies from Ella’s class who would love this! Let’s make it happen!

You really should – it was amazing! Email Kerri and mention me or copy me in if you want, she is lovely 🙂 There are lots of independent shops across the UK that carry Chantelle too as well as being able to order online. Do it, do it, do it! xx

  3. Sophie, thank you for inviting me to such a wonderful evening and thank you for organising it. It was not only lovely browsing through such lovely lingerie, but Sandra from Chantelle was extremely helpful in fitting me properly. Now I’ve got to order more bras! What a shame! It was also fab meeting you, too. Until next time… x

[…] So when my lovely friend Sophie from Franglaise Mummy wrote this post I jumped at the chance to pop along and see Chantelle’s new collection, be measured properly for a perfect fitting bra and possibly even grow to like my boobs again. (Finding them without a magnifying glass would be a great start.) I also bought some lovely lingerie from their Opera range (see middle below) and ended up wearing a bra in front of a room full of people but I’ll leave you to read more about that over on Sophie’s blog!
