Baby book to make you smile

As I have mentioned before, I was lucky enough to go to BritMums Live back in June, and whilst I was there I was introduced to Parragon Books. They were looking for bloggers to review various books of theirs, and as a HUGE bookworm I couldn’t resist. It was pretty crazy at BritMums Live so I just grabbed the two baby books they were offering for review, and I have finally had some time to look at them with and without our 9 month old daughter, C.

C has been a bit short-changed when it comes to presents and new things; as the second child you tend to get fewer presents, from your parents, but also from everyone else, which is fine as usually there are tons kicking around from the first child. Not so for C, as we got rid of pretty much everything when we moved back to the UK from France, so we’re trying to build up our stock of toys and books again now. Which means these baby books were very welcome 🙂

The books I got to review from Parragon Books were, Peek-a-Boo Friends:

Peek a boo friends

Peek a boo friends 2

And Ring a-Ring O’ Roses:

Ring a ring o roses

Ring a ring o roses 2

Both books are of great quality (they stand the chew test of a teething 9 month old!), and I personally love the soft, pastel colours used in both books.

The Peek-a-boo book is great for discovering animals hiding on upcoming pages:

C engrossed in her animal hunting

However my absolute favourite (and everyone else’s who spends any time in our house) is the Ring a-Ring o’roses book’s sounds, in particular the last one which is a cute baby giggle. As words can’t describe how cute it is, here is a video of the sounds the book makes:

How can you listen to that and not smile?!?

All in all both books are a huge hit here (L also loves reading them to C which is lovely to watch) and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. The Peek-a-boo book retails at £4.99 and the ring a-ring o’roses book sells for £5.99, and I think both books are worth this, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them for my own baby or as a present for another one.

Disclosure: both books were supplied free of charge, but I was not paid to write this post and all words and opinions are my own, honest ones.
