I’m back again…sort of

I haven’t blogged in a week, and it feels like a lifetime. It’s not because I’ve lost my blogging mojo. Oh no. There are loads of posts just screaming to be released. It is for a far bigger reason. I’ve been busy preparing for my Ofsted inspection so I can become a registered childminder. This has meant hours of training, and studying all about the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage – which is basically what under 5s learn no matter where they are looked after/at nursery/school in England).

However the scary inspection has now been and gone. I am now a registered childminder. Woohoo! So I’m back in the land of blogging again. Well kind of, as yesterday we booked a family holiday to the sun and we’re going in 10 days’ time. But that’s a whole other story.

So I’m sure you’re wondering what I did to celebrate becoming a childminder. You’re not? Well, I’ll tell you anyway. Hubs brought me home a lovely bouquet of flowers, we cracked open some prosecco (you can tell we don’t live in France anymore and can’t afford real champagne these days!). Then the next day, the glorious sun was out (again), and this time I could enjoy it. While C had her lunchtime nap I put my bikini on, snuck into the garden, lay on a sun lounger and read. It was sheer bliss. I could have been on holiday on a deserted island and not in southwest London if it weren’t for the (beautiful) Magnolia tree in our garden and the (not so beautiful) top of next door’s Victorian terraced house.
