How did you score?

Mostly ‘a’s

You are most certainly English; alcohol is a way of life, as is friendship, you’re more concerned about making it through the day than looking pristine. Despite being a party animal when possible you feel that your most important job is being a mum, even if your kids do drive you bonkers.

Mostly ‘b’s

You could be English or French; you are certainly not stereotypically French but there are French women like this who exist and they would get along with the English women who fit in this category. Your life is all about trying to find a balance – between your kids, your other half, your work/career and your friends, you like to let your hair down and have a good time without going crazy.

Mostly ‘c’s

You are most certainly French; appearance is everything – your kids must be perfectly behaved, you must be groomed and well-presented at all times, no excess weight or alcohol is allowed. Whilst you don’t think your other half would stray you don’t trust any female around him as you never know.

This quiz was a lot of fun to create and is based on French/English stereotypes, including feedback I got from Facebook and Twitter, but also on my own French friends and experiences of living in France for 12 years in my 20s and 30s as a single gal and also in a long-term relationship with a French man.

What do you think? Do you agree with who you got? Are there other questions you would have added in here? I hope you liked it!

Thanks for your lovely comment Emmy, I still shock Hubs nearly 13 years into our relationship and 4 years after him moving to the UK. So how did you score in the quiz?

Ha ha! I am more French than British, but I have to say my children are a lot more opinionated (and loud) than their little French friends. I also eat about 10x more than the average French woman! Great little quiz!

Glad you liked it, I am still more British than French but there are times when I feel very French, despite not living there for 4 years now. L becomes more French when we’re in France, as for C it’s a bit soon to tell yet. I definitely eat way more than most French women I know!

Love it! I think I’m leaning more towards British, to my other half’s dismay (what can I say, I love queuing and drinking too much wine!).
    Great post x

  4. Very funny! I’m right down the middle – Bs everytime – which just goes to show what living in France for 17 years has done to me!

B for every answer – I love France but have never lived there and my French is less than basic….. do I qualify as an almost honoury franglaise?

  7. Pauline says:

Finally took the quiz and I’m totally unsurprised to be mostly Bs! I always am more French in the UK and more English in France..

Same here – I’m always French here and English in France and defensive of whichever one is being attacked 😉

  8. TraCx says:

How fun! I got nearly all B’s. I’m a brit married to a Frenchie, 2 sons & living just south of Paris. The A answers reminded me of life before children when we lived in Paris!

I’m glad you enjoyed the quiz – I had so much fun putting it together 🙂
