Two teeth and no Calpol: the witchcraft works.

A while ago I blogged about amber beads and whether they were a miracle teething cure or witchcraft and wizardry. Well, even Hubs has been eating his words over this one, as C cut her bottom two teeth simultaneously and neither of us even realised it, that’s how easy the whole experience was. In fact I only discovered they had come through when I put my finger in her mouth and was met by spiky teeth instead of smooth gums – ouch!

She is now 8 months old and I still haven’t had to give her any Calpol, paracetamol or any other painkiller, the only “medication” she has had is Anbesol on her gums when she has seemed a little bit uncomfortable.

She has never given us one single sleepless night over teeth, or ever cried about them, and that, in my book, is priceless. I don’t know if it’s down to the amber beads, and I don’t know if they would work for other babies, but for now they seem to be working for us and we’re keeping them.

A few people have asked me where I got mine from, they were recommended by a friend who has found them to be great too, they’re from eBay.

Let me know your amber stories. Do the amber beads work for you? Or are you with Hubs and think it’s all nonsense?

Disclosure: I give no guarantees, but they seem to be working for us, and they have worked for numerous friends too. I don’t condone putting necklaces on babies as I think this is a strangulation risk, so C wears hers round her wrist or her ankle.

We popped them on C when it looked like she was starting teething at around 4 months, and she just hasn’t suffered with her teeth at all. So fingers crossed and all that…

C is the same age as our Little Man, as you know, and he’s cut 2 teeth so far and working on the next 2. They’ve been bothering him a lot actually and this post has reminded me that we used amber beads on Curly Girl to good effect. Thanks for the reminder – now just to find some! Hope you’re enjoying the summer Mrs x

There’s a link to eBay in the post which is where I got ours from, I’m pleased with them so far and they were recommended by a friend who’d used them on her son who is now 3, and had lasted all that time. Having a lovely summer – and you? x
