What can YOU do for Syria? Please read.

I’m going to make this short and sweet, and I’m not going to go into the politics of Syria.

There are people there, who need help. Urgently. So whether you agree or disagree on the politics, please do something for the people there who need your donations.

There is a charity called Hand in hand for Syria, and they are organising “The Big Aid Drop for Syria” which is happening TOMORROW (31st August) across the UK.

Please get involved. You can find locations across the UK (click on the links in the last paragraph) where you can take physical or financial donations. These are the things they are collecting and need people to donate:

• Baby milk (up to 6 months of age)
• Nappies and baby wipes
• Children’s school materials e.g. books, pencils, writing pads
• Women’s hygiene products
• Bandages and dressings
• Non-prescription medicines e.g. pain killers, allergy medicines, laxatives, simple creams
• Children’s winter boots
• Baby clothes (new only)
• Medical equipment
• Winter blankets or duvets (clean and ‘as new’)
• Money (online or via collection points)

I know that most of the people who read this blog are women, and the vast majority are mothers, so I’m hoping you will be moved enough by what is on the list to realise that it’s women and children who need our help, and to dip your hand in your pocket or to volunteer your time tomorrow.

I will be helping at the Surbiton drop (not my closest, but a friend is organising it).

Please, please share this information. Find your closest location. Offer your help. Take items along to your local drop. Give money. If I can go by train with a 6 year old and a 9 month old on my own, with my donations on the buggy to help out tomorrow, then you can do something too.
