Happy 8th Birthday L: An open letter

To my darling L,

You are 8 years old today, and to mark your big day here is this year’s special letter (last year’s letter is here). I cannot for the life of me understand how on earth you can possibly be 8 years old. Surely it was just yesterday that we held you, our first baby, in our arms, this tiny bundle of 2.7kg of joy.… Read more

Do you bunk bed? l www.FranglaiseMummy.com l French and English Parenting and Lifestyle Ramblings

Do you bunk bed?

Our youngest daughter, C, has just turned 2 and this age brings with it a fair amount of milestones and lasts. She now drinks out of real cups, can master cutlery, is into pull-ups as she plays with her potty and has moved out of her cot.

I’m mostly certain that C will be our last baby which makes these lasts that bit more poignant.… Read more

Happy 7th Birthday L: An open letter

Ma Grande Puce*,

How time flies! How is it possible that it’s already 7 years since I became a mum?!? Little did I know how much you would change my life, turn it around and upside down. I was pretty prepared for dealing with a baby, and we were lucky in that you were a pretty chilled and easy baby, but what I wasn’t prepared for was dealing with a toddler, a little girl, and now a girl who’s getting bigger and bigger.… Read more

Happy 1st Birthday C: An open letter

To my beautiful baby girl,

Today is your 1st birthday so it seems the right time to write you this letter (which will only make sense to you when you are much older).

Daddy and I had been together for 5 years when we had your big sister, L, and we really wanted a baby, so we knew we would be so happy when she was born.… Read more

What should you do if your baby has a rash?

This is the question I had to ask myself yesterday as C – now 10 months – had developed a rash. My first reaction (like most mums I’m sure) was to have a minor panic, as I ran through meningitis symptoms in my head. She was grizzly, but not really a surprise as she had a cold and a snotty nose, she didn’t shy away from the light, wasn’t floppy and her cries were normal ones.… Read more

Baby book to make you smile

As I have mentioned before, I was lucky enough to go to BritMums Live back in June, and whilst I was there I was introduced to Parragon Books. They were looking for bloggers to review various books of theirs, and as a HUGE bookworm I couldn’t resist. It was pretty crazy at BritMums Live so I just grabbed the two baby books they were offering for review, and I have finally had some time to look at them with and without our 9 month old daughter, C.… Read more

Magic Moments – Baby’s moving forwards

Having just got back from a fortnight’s family holidays there are millions of Magic Moments that I could talk about today (including our 10th wedding anniversary which we celebrated whilst away), but I am going to choose just one, or rather a selection of similar ones, all about Baby C.

She is 8 and a half months old now and this holiday has seen us reach various milestones – we went from two teeth to four, as her top two cut while we were away.… Read more

Ergobaby review

I hadn’t really planned on reviewing the Ergobaby carrier, but after using it for Race for Life at the weekend, and after the huge amount of questions I got about it following my Race for Life blog post I decided that I should share my view of it.

I can only compare it to the Baby Bjorn baby carrier which is what we had for L when she was a baby in France (when we moved back to the UK we sold all our baby stuff and have started afresh here).… Read more
