Blog your heart out
A while ago the lovely Mummy Swan tagged me to “blog my heart out” which is basically a blog post that tells my readers more about me, and the background to my blog. I have to answer 5 questions and then tag five other bloggers to do the same, so here goes…
Who/What encouraged you to start blogging?
Hubs. He is Mr IT and we had a baby blog for L when she was born in 2006 to share with family. Then Hubs set up his own blog all about investing in the stock market, in French, (Bourse Ensemble) and he thought I might like to write one on parenting. Et voilà!
How did you choose what topics to blog about?
It just made sense. I was already a mum, we were trying for a second baby at the time, and I was already noticing such massive differences between parenting in the UK and France. Documenting the differences and my personal experiences just seemed like the right thing to be blogging about for me, as I’ve lived a third of my life in France, being pregnant/parenting for nearly 5 of those years.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I’m a chatterbox. Oh, sorry, what people don’t know about me….hmmm…not much, I’m a blogger, oversharing is what I do best. Ok, some people know this, but not everyone. When I first moved to France, after I graduated, and got my first grown-up job, I found out my boss had links to the Russian Mafia, and I watched him on the news one evening, being led out of a courthouse in handcuffs. That was an interesting introduction to the world of work!
What three words describe your style?
Chatty. Honest. Oversharing.
What do you love to do when you’re not blogging?
I love spending time with family (both my own little family, and my extended family) and friends, reading, going to the cinema, dancing, eating, drinking, and – believe it or not – spending quiet time on my own too. Being on holiday is something I quite like doing too 😉
With my long-suffering Hubs, who I still love spending time with, 12 years after meeting.

Thank you lovely 🙂 It was taken at my brother’s wedding last year, after several glasses of fizz 😉 He loves me doing the blog, but then complains when I’m on my computer/phone on “twitbook” as he calls social media!

Thank you lovely. Yes, that was a fairly interesting introduction to the world of work. Then my boss when I was 27 got removed from the company for fraud, having stolen over £1M from the company. Welcome to the world of the French Riviera!
