Why do people use lifts?

Warning: this is a ranty post, so if you only want sweetness and light please move along, and come back another day.

Clapham Junction lift

I’ve had this post brewing for a while and have finally found the time to sit down and write it. I have a (nearly) 10 month old baby, who is often in a pushchair.… Read more

Are pets worth it?

When I was growing up we were banned from having pets, the excuse from my parents was that five children was enough to be dealing with. I always used to think this was unfair, unreasonable and just plain untrue. Then I joined the world of adulthood and got my own pets.… Read more

Myth-busting about childminding

A few months ago I decided to not return to my full-time job as an account director in a digital marketing agency in London. Instead I opted to work as a childminder, looking after our two girls and an additional two children of similar ages.

I got mixed responses – some people thought I was crazy (and I’m sure there are many more who haven’t voiced it), and quite a lot of people supported me in my new life, where I’ll be around for my children.… Read more

I do: 10 years on. An open letter to my husband.

10 years ago today I said “oui” and “I do” to my husband in French and in English (just to allay any doubt!), so I’d like to dedicate today’s blog post to him with an open letter. (I will post about our wedding next week when we’re back home and I can access photos and – dare I say it – videos, for a trip down memory lane.)

Are you a slave to your phone?

Recently a friend posted on Facebook that she had left her phone somewhere and it felt like she had lost her right arm. Instead of thinking it was an OTT remark, my first thought was “what a nightmare!”. I am the first to admit it, I am a slave to my phone.… Read more

Wedding dress – 10 years on

On the 2nd August Hubs and I will have been married for 10 years. However we will be on holiday en famille then, making it hard to celebrate just the two of us. Enter our saviours, my mum and dad, who came to stay and look after the girls yesterday so that we could go out.… Read more

I actually went out. For a date night.

Hubs and I used to go out once a week. We were so smug. We had a child yet we still managed to frequently go out for a date night. To the cinema, out for dinner, for a stroll around the tourist attractions of London if the weather was good. We didn’t question it.… Read more

I am leading the way….for once

Back in 2006, just before my 30th birthday, whilst I was stressing over the thought of leaving my 20s and worrying about wrinkles and grey hairs, my usually clear skin flared up into an almighty mess of redness, particularly over my nose and cheeks. I felt so ugly, I hid in my office at work, letting my fair fall over my face to try and hide this awful, red acne.… Read more
