Franglaise Mummy does food too
Our food blog is aimed at all parents who ask themselves day in, day out what to cook for themselves, their children and their babies. Franglaise Cooking showcases everyday French and English (and some non Franglaise) food for all the family, the idea being that you cook one family meal which everyone eats (either at the same time or separately as work and lifestyle dictate).
In France we always ate with L as a family, pretty much from when she was weaned as a baby; we would eat altogether, the same food at the same time, and possibly thanks to this L now eats pretty much anything you put in front of her, from radishes, to curry, to artichokes, to olives, to mussels and much more. And yes, as a French child she has also eaten escargots….although it was once she lived in the UK and had befriended many a snail, so she was not impressed at eating them!
Franglaise Cooking aims to make life for parents as simple as possible. Each recipe is tagged with 3 levels across 4 different categories:
- Beginner – Intermediate level – Expert
- Healthy – Medium healthy – Blow the diet
- Cheap – Medium cost – Expensive
- Quick – Medium time – Time-consuming
This allows you to see at a glance whether it is a suitable recipe for you or not. All the dishes are ones that we have eaten en famille recently, which usually includes our 1 year old daughter too.
There will be two new sections coming soon – one with slow cooker recipes, as a slow cooker is a saviour for any family, and one called “Cook’s night off” which will showcase beginner recipes so the non-cook of the family can give the cook a night off, I know a fair few friends who will be pointing their husbands in the direction of this!
Hubs and I really hope you like Franglaise Cooking and we would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or recommendations that you might have for us.
I haven’t linked up to The Gallery for ages, but when I saw that this week’s theme was “Food” it would have been rude not to join in. Click on the linky below to see other “Food” photos:
